Celebration of Learning

Ethan and Annie's school does a Celebration of Learning a few times a year to show off what they have been focusing on for the past expedition. In the K-2 pod, each class learned about a different country.

Annie's class learned about Brazil:

Annie talked about the geography of Brazil.

And then her class did a Brazilian dance to the song "Mama Pequena". So cute.

Ethan's class learned about Japan.  His class's presentation was so impressive.  I honestly can't belive that a bunch of 6-8 year olds put it together.  But they did!

Showing off a Japanese dance and drumming.

Ethan doing a martial arts display.

Ethan and his frined Cami were the narrators of the entire program about Japan.  They did a great job
.

Ethan's group for this expedition.  Their learning focus was about the community in Japan.  The whole thing was just so fantastic.  Mt. Fuji erupted.  They had some of the girls do a parasol dance. They sent lanterns floating down a river.  Every Friday, their school does Mega-Crew where the entire kindergarten - 9th grade gets together and talks about what they are learning and what is going on in the school.  One class hosts each week.  Ethan's class did just a part of this celebration of learning program for their Mega-Crew week.  They won an award for the best Mega-Crew of the year.  It really was amazing.  Ms. Churchill is a great teacher.
The 1st and 2nd graders learned songs from India, Japan and  the Polynesian islands.

I love this picture of Aaron and Meghan.  Usually, I think she looks like me, but they look so much alike here.
